On 22nd August 2017, targeted at SOHO and office workgroup printing market, Canon released a new generation of PIXMA desktop models. There are two types of printers in new series printers. One can install 5 single inks and this type aims to office workgroup printing market. The other one can install 6 single inks for SOHO especially home photo printing. Compared with previous generation’s printers, the new generation of PIXMA products are much more legerity in shape and easier to operate.

For the new generation of PIXMA printers, Canon introduced original PGI-580/CLI-581XXL series inkjet cartridges. It is worth mentioning that Canon added Photo Blue color for the models that can install 6 single inks. Gray color was cancelled.

Canon added a super large capacity ink cartridge for new PIXMA printers, which has an increase in ink volume and page yield. The price of the new printers is a bit lower than last generation’s. It is expected that the market potential for the new printers will be huge. The consumables demand will be increasing accordingly.
